Assisi: Built
with wine stones, Assisi emerges among olive trees becoming a really
enchanting view at sunset, when the sun enflames the stones and the
windows. St. Francis's church marks one side of the town that
develops along Monte Subasio. Four major horizontal roads cross the
town, vertically united by a maze of small streets, arches and squares
that hide and protect secret gardens and small courts. |

Perugia:
An
escalator, (the bridge from past to future), will take you from Piazza
Partigiani through the ancient Rocca Paolina up to the medieval
heart of the town. Its many centuries of life, from the early
Etruscan beginnings, the Roman, Medieval and Renaissance periods, to
the present time have left distinctive marks of beauty and fascination.
Art, culture and a cosmopolitan atmosphere, fuelled by two major
universities, constantly intermingle in this capital town of Umbria.
Internationally renown is Umbria Jazz festival, held in July.
In October, Euro Chocolate, transforms the city center into a
gigantic chocolate-factory, you can taste every kind of chocolate in
restaurants, stands, shops and stores. |

Gubbio: You will be seduced
by the monochrome color of its light stone buildings and by the
asymmetry of the city-line. |

Spoleto: Located near the Sibillini mountain chain, Spoleto offers beautiful walks in the city center from Piazza della Libertà to the cathedral, through a maze of narrow streets and alleys. During the Spoleto Festival (between June and July), the whole town becomes a theatre, the meeting point of different cultures and artistic avant-garde. International orchestras, dance companies, actors and directors perform in the theatres, churches and squares of the town. |

Orvieto |

Orvieto: Located on the top
of a volcanic tuff hill, it is a double town: on the surface there is a
beautiful medieval center, underneath a maze of grottos dug for over 2800
years in the pillar supporting the town. In December Jazz Winter Festival
transforms this peaceful town into an ideal stage for gospel choirs and
jazz sessions. |
|
Cortona: Valdichiana is
one of the largest valleys in Tuscany. From Cortona, an Etruscan
town later enriched with medieval and renaissance buildings, you can
really admire this beautiful valley. Not far from Villa Stampa, it
could become the place for a walk and an aperitif before dinner. A
stop at Snoopy ice-cream parlor in front of the theatre is a must. |
